Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year. From Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day, many of us fly or travel distances only the holidays give us reason enough to choose. With all it’s busyness, there is a potential of forgetting the reason for the holiday in the first place. It’s not sugar cookies and stockings on the mantle. It’s also not just family and friends enjoying each other’s company. The real reason for the season is that the King of heaven stepped down from his throne to be born in a manger, all so He could die a horrific death on a cross as our sacrifice. Why would He do that? It was all for love. Love for you and for me.
Take time this Christmas season to reflect on Jesus’ tremendous sacrifice, and say thank-you.
